February Faves

1.Sons of anarchy
Binge watching this show on Netflix like it's going out of style. I am well aware that we are SO late on this, but I kind of like it when we are late to the game. That means I can watch episode after episode with no fear of having to wait a week to find out what happens in the next episode.
I know, I have a problem.
I want good shows, I want them when I want them, and I don't like waiting y'all!

2.Trenta Iced Non-Sweetened Green Tea from Starbucks
 Yes, that is correct... Trenta.

3.Love Me Like You Do- Ellie Goulding
I cant stop singing/listening/humming this song! So good!

4. Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lip Color in Unlimited mulberry
I need a long wearing lip color. I don't like super matte liquid lipsticks because they make my lips feel so dry! However, this long lasting lip stain doesn't make my lips feel dry at all. I do exfoliate my lips prior to application and put on a lip conditioner, which is an absolute must with this stuff.
It lasts all day, it looks pretty, and TC loves that it doesn't get all over his face when I kiss him!

1. Exfoliate/ Moisturize my lips
2. Apply one coat, let it dry
3. Apply a second coat, let it dry
4. Apply the gloss.
The gloss isn't sticky and annoying like most. Its thin and it dries pretty quickly.
The downside to this lip stain is, it smells funny for about 3 seconds when you first apply it.
The smell goes away almost instantly, but it does smell funky.
I can not stress this enough; if you do not exfoliate/moisturize, it will look flaky and gross.

5. Too Faced: Better Than Sex Mascara
I have YET to find a "holy grail" mascara. I think the problem is that I'm too picky. I have the straightest eyelashes known to man. Here's the thing, my lashes do curl, they are long, but I just want MORE! Anyway, I hate the name of this mascara, but it is good! I found myself reaching for it ALL month long. Here's what the product claims:
"An intensely black, volumizing mascara with an hourglass-shaped brush that separates, coats, and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection"
It is intensely black. It is volumizing. It does separate my lashes.
It DOES NOT curl each lash to voluptuous perfection.

Overall, this is the best mascara I've used yet, and it has been a monthly favorite. I still think there's better out there.

I know this monthly favorite has been a little wacky, but that's also how my life has been.
If y'all have a holy grail mascara that you live for feel free to let me know!
Until next year,
Smell Ya Later February!

My TC is kind.
He is SO FUNNY.
He is observant.
He is genuine.
He loves unconditionally.
He finds the good in everyone.
He is everything God wanted for me.

Let me take you back 5 years.
I was working at a restaurant while I was in school. I mainly worked weekends and then drove back to school during the week. I never paid any attention to the people who came in, I just didn't.
One night I noticed a guy and his friend at table 53. It wasn't my section, but I knew the moment I looked at TC that I was going to marry him. I told the girl working that section "I don't know who the guy is at table 53 but I'm going to marry him"! That girl and I still laugh about that moment today! It sounds crazy- trust me I know. What's crazier is that I have never been like that in my entire life. I've always been VERY picky, very meticulous, very sure of everything I did. Type-A is an understatement. I always had a plan. I knew what I wanted, but here I am staring at this STRANGER thinking "I have no idea who that guy is, but I'm going to marry him". Now, it might have been just because I honestly think TC is the best looking person in the world, and I mean that.. but there was something about him. So after I gathered my thoughts, and in true carol fashion, planned a way to go over and talk to him. I grabbed the beers being ordered for his table and walked over and I said, "Are you even old enough to be drinking this?" and.. to my surprise, he said.. "Are you even old enough to work here?" Such sass!! I was so shocked and embarrassed, I just laughed and walked away.
Weeks later, we went on our very first date.

I am a planner.
I am type A.
I am NOT impulsive.
I did not believe in love at first sight

I love TC with every ounce of my being, and there is no other person I would rather grow old with.
I believe God had a greater plan for my life, than I had for myself...
I am so thankful,
and I am so uninterested in a life without TC.

Loving you is so easy.

Cheers To Many More Years,

Happy Tuesday!
Tomorrow is our anniversary!
I decided to post today rather than Wednesday, so that TC can have my full undivided attention.
I tell yah, we really like each other!

Confession, I have too many Kimonos for my own good.
I just love them! Super effortless and most of them add a pop of color to any outfit.
Here I paired it with a Piko tee and some dressed jeans.
You could tuck this Piko in to make the outfit more put together, but y'all know me.. comfy comfy comfy!

Come on sandal weather, I miss you and I can't wait to see you!
Big Tuesday Love,

Happy Monday!
I just wanna start by saying, my coffee shop offers an extra free shot of espresso to any drink on Mondays. They get it... they understand my life. Ha-Ha!
I had a busy weekend, I had a "Sip-and-See" on Saturday, which is where you sip champagne and see the new baby. It's a great way to get everyone together to hold and see the a new baby, especially if you don't have a baby shower!
Sunday I worked a lot on blog posts! I will be so busy in March it's not even funny. I have all my vendors booked and everything is going so smoothly, it's just the small details.
I also have my bridal shower, my bridals, and my bachelorette in March. Whew, here we go y'all.
I have a bunch of posts planned and ready to go, so be on the look out!
Big Monday Hugs,

Our Wedding is coming up fast!
The next month I will be super busy with all the last minute details, so I wanted to take a second and brag about the wonderful ladies who will be standing by my side on April 11th!

Chris Travis- My Maid of Honor.
My Sister!
My sister is my best friend. We have inside jokes and stories for days, she centers me, drives me, and loves me unconditionally.
Everything she does comes from a good place and she would give a stranger the shirt off her back.
I love you Sis, so honored to have you by my side!

Karli Bundy
 My Best Friend!
We met in college and then became roommates. This woman is my soul sister and she completes me. I have never met a more caring and genuine person in my life!
I have never been as close with anyone as I am with my Marli-Girl. She is the better half in this friendship for sure, and I love that she is my very best friend for life.
Maw-Maw, So happy to have you by my side!

Sarah Bravenec
My soon to be Sister-in-Law!
I used to get so mad because Sarah would always introduce me as her "Soon to be Sister-In-Law" because we are so much more than that!
Sarah is not only my office partner in crime, shes one of my closest friends.
We laugh like sisters, fight like sisters, and love each other like sisters. I feel like it's only natural that we are becoming sisters by marriage.
So glad to have you by my side!

Andrea Fernandez
My babes!
This girl is my favorite little munchkin ever. We worked together at first, but became closer than ever after she did my hair for the first time. This girl is an ARTIST y'all! Drea keeps it real and is always there for me. I could call this girl at 2 am and she would answer! Andrea is also my meme queen, we send each other memes all day long! Drea, you are my girl. Thanks for everything you do!
So excited to have you by my side!

Erica Catter
My Gilly Woman!
Erica and I finish each other sentences. When I'm around Erica I tend to snort laugh because she is the funniest woman I've ever met in my life. Erica and I are the kind of friends that can look at each other and know exactly what the other is thinking, without speaking. Erica and I have sing a longs together, we compulsively text each other, and get Gilly way too often.
I know we are going to #justnailit at this wedding.
Erica, Thank you for your friendship... it keeps me sane, in the most insane way.
So ready to #nailit with you by my side!

This is our fifth Valentines!
Our 5 year anniversary is February 25th, however we were "dating" for a month or so prior.
We usually keep it pretty casual for Valentines, just because we like to do it big on our Anniversary!
However, in true TC fashion.. he blew my socks off, he always does.
I don't like to "brag", but my man makes it easy.
Loving him is easy.
Alright, enough with the mush.. here's what we did for Valentines!

1st, I woke up to a wrapped present.. I didn't ask for anything, so I was surprised!
TC got me the most beautiful GIGI New York Clutch EVER.
Still available, find it here!
We ate breakfast in bed and then got ready for Barre! As I was getting ready I hear TC yell "I think one of your shoe deliveries is here.."
I ran to open the door expecting a package... it was flowers!
Sneaky Sneaky TC Bravenec! You sure know how to surprise a gal!
The little note said "To my soon to be wife, I love you"... Y'all I almost lost it.
Then I drug TC to a Barre Class! My studio was doing a promotion for Valentines where you are encouraged to bring your significant other! It was so funny! I loved it! My TC does crossfit, and after the class he said "that was pretty tough!" WIN for Carol!

(Get my Barre Tank here!)
Later we went to the movies and pigged out way to hard. We went to the movies to do something while we waited for dinner. We had reservations at Flemmings. Well.. after the movie we were both stuffed from popcorn and candy and decided to cancel the fancy dinner. We like hanging out on our couch together so much more than dressing up and being proper!
We did a late night run to Randall's for my favorite wine (Nine Points-a Stags Leap wine)
and then picked up Chinese take out.

Again, I hate to brag... but my Beau makes it so easy. Loving him is easy.
I hope y'all had a great Valentines spent with the ones you love!
Excuse me while I make a mad dash for all the discounted chocolates!
Big Cheesy Valentines Kisses,
-C

ps. Yes, I got TC something! I'm probably going to include it in a separate post!

To continue my "One Last Fling Before Spring" series... I'm really going to miss over-sized sweaters!
One of my favorite things to breakout come fall is a big comfy sweater that I can pair with leggings or dress up with skinnies.
We only have a couple more weeks of "winter" here in Texas, so sadly these bad boys are getting moved to my other closet until next fall/winter.
Can we jut have a moment of silence?
Sad Day!
If you live up north, enjoy your winter because mine is almost over!

(get ready TC, it's going to be rough)
I may have to dress up a little more for our dinner date, it's a fancy-schmancy restaurant.. but during the day I plan on keeping it comfy!
Here's what I'll be wearing!

I hate doing "recap" posts, but with the way my life has been the last couple of weeks.. it's all I have time for!
Y'all, I'm getting married in 65 days.
STOP. That's insane.
Hence, why I haven't been as regular with my posts. I have been GO GO GO non-stop.
I usually shoot on Saturdays and Sundays, because I work full time. I still prep all my posts during the week, but weekends are when I actually go out and shoot the looks.
Let's talk about last weekend..

Saturday I went on a "Day Trip" with some friends. It was a BBQ day trip tour, so basically we went to three different BBQ places in three different towns... heaven!
We visited Highway 29 BBQ, Coopers BBQ, and Opies BBQ. YUM!
We also had Rudy's BBQ breakfast tacos for breakfast and then ended the trip with Bluebonnet Cafe Pie. Yes, I still love BBQ... but no I did not eat the next day. Ha-Ha!
The trip was a lot of fun! We had a blast!

Sunday was the Superbowl, but I also went to see a movie with some of my gal-pals to celebrate February Birthdays. We saw "The Imitation Game", it was so good. Easily one of the best movies I've seen in a while! After the movie we went over to one of my best friends house and watched the game. I'm going to be honest, I just watched the commercials and the half time show... I also hate the Seahawks, so I'm glad they lost.

An Explanation for my Absence

Thursday, February 5, 2015

GO Saints and GO Cowboys!
