I am so excited to reveal Baby Bravenec's nursery! Getting this little girls room ready was a real labor of love and our family was such a big help. This room went through a huge transformation, from removing the texture on the walls to installing crown molding and larger baseboards. We also ripped out the old closet shelving and installed an Elfa closet system to help keep all of her things organized. The process took a few months from start to finish, and we can not express how thankful we are for all the hard work everyone put into this room!

Overall, I wanted her room to be girly, a touch bohemian and "not too baby-ish." I started with her crib and dresser, as her room is small and I knew these pieces would take up the most space. I love the mix of boho textures and the mid-century modern crib and dresser. The next big item on my list was lighting. I knew this room needed a statement light fixture to balance everything out and add height to her small room. After I decided on the big pieces, the rest was easy! I found art work for above her crib and shopped the Anthropologie home section like it was going out of style! To make sure her room wasn't too "baby-ish", I focused on accent pieces NOT found in the nursery section of my favorite stores. Her marble inlay book shelves are from world market, as well as her toy baskets and wall mirror. I added the ceramic flowers, picture frames and dolls to her shelves to make her room a bit more girly and whimsical. TC's mom gifted us with TC's hospital bear, and we almost melted placing that bear in her crib. I absolutely love that she will share a bear with her Dad. I also have to give a special shout out to TC for gifting me with the cutest mouse in a box. I had been eyeing this little mouse for months, constantly hinting at him about how adorable I thought it was. One day TC handed me a little nursery gift and I was so excited to find that cute little mouse box inside!

We are so happy with how her room turned out, it is easily our favorite room in our house! I am most excited to snuggle up with her in the gilder and rock her to sleep and I can not wait to add her picture to the little picture frames around her room.

Most importantly, I hope this room comforts her and serves as a tiny reminder of how loved she truly is.

Where We Stayed

When researching beach cities we came across Rosemary Beach and instantly knew it was where we needed to go. The city is relatively new, developed in 1995, but definitely has an established beach town vibe. There are a lot of options regarding places to stay, but we decided The Pearl Hotel fit our needs best. When we checked in we were gifted the CUTEST welcoming gift with a personalized baby onesie (picuted above)! It was the absolute CUTEST detail and really made an impression on us. Hospitality aside, we loved all the accommodations the Pearl offered. Each day they set up an umbrella and chairs on the beach for us, with complimentary towels and lemonade :) We didn't swim in the pool, but it was adults only, so beautiful and heated! The on-site pool also offered complimentary drinks and services provided by the hotel, which was really nice. Additionally, staying at The Pearl gives you access to 4 other pools located around town! Which I think is awesome if you were looking to switch up your itinerary each day or explore other properties! The hotel has two restaurants on-site, one pool side grill which served quick bites, and The Havana Bar and Grille, a more upscale restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Pro-Tip, we opted for turn down service a couple nights and I'm so glad we did! Each night they would leave baked treats for us in our rooms, everything from warm peanut butter cookies to little red velvet brownies. I was in pregger heaven! The rooms were nice, with awesome views of the ocean. We appreciated the Apple TV with HBO access, which allowed us to watch Game of Thrones on Sunday night, priorities, am I rite? Ha-ha!  Overall, we LOVED The Pearl Hotel! We would highly recommended it and will definitely be returning guests!

Where We Ate
Breakfast
  • The Donut Hole This place was amazing! Make sure you visit the Donut Hole hungry. The portions are massive and so filling! The Donut Hole has a full service breakfast menu and a quick take out donut counter.
  • Cowgirl Kitchen This place was also incredible, we ate here twice for breakfast because I LOVED the Chipotle Breakfast Sandwich. This place can get busy, so come early! Also worth noting, they stop serving breakfast at 11 A.M. We almost missed breakfast our second visit, so again, come early!
Lunch & Dinner
  • La Crema Tapas & Chocolate I think this might have been TC's favorite dinner of the entire trip. The concept is Tapas and fondue chocolate, and it was every bit as amazing as it sounds! We ordered the Crab Cakes, Enfuego Chicken, and Seafood Paella. All were incredible! For desert we split the traditional chocolate fondue and the light layered chocolate.
  • George's This place was so good! Lots of menu options and a very back-home southern feel. They operate on "beach time" and do not accept reservations, so plan accordingly!
  • Caliza This pool side restaurant is Instagram-photo heaven!A must see when visiting!
  • The Pearl Havana Beach Bar and Grille This is one of the on-site restaurants at The Pearl Hotel. We loved our breakfast here! The breakfast BLT was awesome! However, dinner was just okay. The service was A+, but the food was over-priced and didn't live up to the hype. If you're looking for a nice dinner, there are a couple other places in town I would suggest.
  • The Pearl Pool Side Havana Bar we shared lunch here twice and really enjoyed it! The menu has a variety of pool-side food options. We shared the pulled pork sliders one afternoon and a burger the next, both were awesome! The portions were perfect size for sharing as well.
  • Southside Slice We ordered two-medium pizzas from here to eat while we watched Game of Thrones. Both. Pizzas. Were. Delicious! However, we should have ordered a couple slices a piece, the mediums were massive and we couldn't come close to finishing both!

This little getaway was much needed and so relaxing. We honestly had the best time and will definitely be visiting Rosemary Beach again! I hope this quick recap was helpful, if you have any questions comment below or email me! I'm always happy to help!

I am SO excited to finally announce that TC and I are expecting our first baby this August! We are over the moon excited! We look forward to every check-up and each ultrasound is like Christmas morning for us! I look forward to Saturday mornings, as each Saturday marks a new week of my pregnancy. TC and I lay in bed on Saturday mornings and read the weekly updates on each of my pregnancy apps, it truly is the highlight of our week. It's the sweetest thing seeing all the changes that happen each week. I'm honestly so proud of this little one!

We told our family and friends around week 14 and it was the best experience. I will never forget each persons reaction to the news and the overwhelming feeling of joy I felt. It has truly been the best experience of my life to date, I can not express how grateful I am.

How I'm Feeling:  Overall, I am feeling great! I am SO thankful I never experienced any morning sickness. I swear I stocked up on crackers and ginger ale the day I found out I was expecting. I was fully prepared for the nausea to kick in, but thankfully it never came. However, I am exhausted. My new bedtime is roughly 8:30 PM on a good day. The first 8 weeks I struggled to get out of bed and when I did it was even more of a struggle to stay awake past lunch time. Now that I'm in my second trimester I'm slowly getting my energy back and starting to feel more normal.

Food Adversions & Cravings: The first trimester I lived for bagels and cream cheese. We have never purchased bagels for the house prior to my pregnancy, but you better believe they became a stocked priority that first trimester. Toward the later end of my first trimester I began to crave waffles, also not something we typically keep stocked. Randomly one night I had the biggest hankering for waffles. I asked TC to whip some up for dinner, and thankfully we had some waffle mix in the pantry. Immediately TC started getting the ingredients mixed together and I set out to preheat the waffle maker. I searched high and low for that dang waffle maker until it hit me... it was gone! To my horror, TC had actually thrown out our waffle maker a few months back. Needless to say, this wasn't a pleasant night for TC. I'm happy to report my mother-in-law kindly overnight shipped us a beautiful new waffle maker after hearing about Bravenec Waffle Gate.
As far as aversions go, I don't have many. There are definitely nights that certain dinners sound better than others, but nothing extreme. The biggest change is my lack of interest in sweets. I had the biggest sweet tooth prior to pregnancy, but not so much anymore. A single cookie will sustain my sweet tooth for at least a week...pregnancy can be so odd.

Gender: Yes! We are going to find out if baby Bravenec is a girl or a boy! At my last appointment they were able to tell the gender, but we asked them to seal the big news in an envelope for us to open privately.  I must admit, If it were up to me, I'd wait until delivery to find out! However, TC would implode waiting. I know for planning purposes it's best to find out the gender. It will also definitely help in the naming department, as TC and I have no clue what names we like. It's been a few weeks now and I have a feeling we won't be waiting much longer to rip that envelope open!

I think that is all for now, but I do plan on updating you all throughout my pregnancy. I enjoy reading any and all pregnancy posts and I think it'll serve as a way to revisit my pregnancy experience for years to come.
