If you follow me on social media you'll know that TC and I decided to get out of town for a little New Years getaway. We decided on Fredericksburg, simply because what better way to ring in the new year then by winery hopping! I stumbled upon Contigo Ranch while searching for hotels in Fredericksburg and I'm SO glad I did! It is about 15 minutes outside of town, but well worth it. We planned on spending most of our days exploring the wineries, so the quick drive in and out of town wasn't a pain at all.
The cottages have all the standard amenities, including a wine bottle opener, ha-ha! Every morning there is a complementary breakfast tote delivered to your room! The tote consisted of little pastries, breakfast tacos, granola in mason jars, fruits, fresh milk and orange juice. I loved checking for the tote every morning. Seriously, it was adorable. We absolutely loved our stay and I would totally recommend Contigo Ranch if you're headed out to Fredericksburg!

On the way into Fredericksburg we always stop at William Chris, which is located right at the edge of town. It's one of my favorite wineries and the tastings are amazing! If you're planning on exploring multiple wineries, I would highly suggest looking into the various wine shuttles. We decided on The 290 Wine Shuttle, which was awesome! You can hop on or off at any of the wineries included in their route. The shuttle picked up every 15 minutes and the drivers were so nice! If you're wanting to visit a specific winery, I would suggest checking the website to make sure it is included in the shuttles route. Additionally, some wineries stop allowing non-members to take part in tastings at specific times. By planning ahead you could totally avoid any issues. The wineries we hopped off at on Saturday were:

  1. Barrons Creek, I really liked this winery! The grounds are stunning.
  2. Inwood Estates, known for their Tempranillo growing.
  3. Becker Vineyards, Take the tour after your tasting! It was awesome!)
  4. Messina Hof, family owned with a great selection for tastings
You could totally visit more than 4 wineries per day, we just decided to split the route into two days. That way we could spend more time at each winery. Our Sunday wine shuttle itinerary included:
  1. Grape Creek
  2. Four Points
  3. Six Shooter Cellars
Lastly, where to eat! Although we took advantage of the cute breakfast tote most days, we did decide to dine out for breakfast on Saturday morning. I would highly suggest stopping for breakfast at The Fredericksburg Herb Farm. It was delicious and the restaurant itself is super cute! If you're wanting something quick and easy, plus you like craft beer, you have to stop at Fredericksburg Brewing Company. On the other hand, If you're wanting a nice dinner- I would suggest August E's. After dinner you must stop at The Treaty House for cocktails!

Sorry I don't have a ton of pictures to add, I tried to put my phone away for the weekend. I hope this round up was helpful! As always, if you have any questions feel free to reach out!
