Our Honeymoon Part 1: Paris!

Thursday, May 21, 2015

It was a dream, y'all.
It's funny, everyone at home said it felt like we were gone for MONTHS but for us it flew by!
I can tell you we got extremely lucky, it only rained ONCE our entire trip, we never felt unsafe, and all of our hotels were so nice!

Anyway, I'll just get into the first part of our trip... We did SO MUCH that I had to break it into parts!

We flew from Austin--->Chicago--->Paris

Day one in Paris!
We landed too early to "check in" to our room, but the hotel held our bags for us and we decided to hit the ground running.
We went to visit the Louvre museum where they have the Mona Lisa! Yes, THE Mona Lisa. They also have a ton of other exhibits and features that blew our socks off.
After the Louvre we were on a high and headed to our hotel to change (it was a little chilly) and then we headed over to the Eiffel Tower. It is unbelievable. It took us a good 5 minutes to believe that we were actually standing in front of the Eiffel Tower. It's massive and so beautiful from every angle. We did go back that evening to see it all lit up and it was magical! What was really cool is that our hotel was located to where if we walked outside we could see the Eiffel Tower in the distance!
We ended day one with a cute dinner and wine and called it a night!

Day Two in Paris
We went to visit The Palace of Versailles! Every attraction has a line, and this line was LONG. So we opted for a private tour and got to skip the line, we learned really quickly that there are ways to skip the line, you just have to ask! The private tour was amazing because the guide tells you all these little facts you would've never learned touring on your own! After Versailles we went to dinner and made our way over to see the Notre Dame Cathedral (which was incredible)! Right around the corner from Notre Dame is the "love lock bridge"! Of course we went to see it, but we didn't add a lock.

Day Three in Paris
We wondered down to The Arc De Triomphe and then headed over to Champs Elysees. Champs is a boulevard in Paris with a lot of stores and shopping, this is also where you find the Louis Vuitton store (and yes, there is always a line to get in)
One of my favorite things we did in Paris was having Tea and Macaroons at the famous Laduree!
It was the cutest little place and the deserts were out of this world. It was pretty cute drinking tea out of a little china tea pot too!!
We ended the night by seeing a show at Moulin Rouge. The dancing and the outrageous costumes were phenomenal, and we loved the historical atmosphere!

 Paris was MAGICAL.
That is the only way I can describe it.
Big Missed You Hugs,
-C
