Happy Monday!
I wanted to do an individual post for each of these outfits, but time always seems to get away from me! So I thought I'd just write a post about what I wore and what I did this past weekend. As always, links will be provided for each outfit.

Friday
We took off work a little early and headed down to Gruene Hall to see Kacey Musgraves, one of my all time favorite artists. Her show was amazing, I'm still on cloud 9!

I am LOVING all the new fall trends. Give me Cranberry colored everything, and throw in some riding boots and a good flannel too! Its not cold enough to bring out my boots- but boy am I itching to bring them out! I think it should cool down here in the next couple of weeks and I'll be posting fall hauls and outfits! Until then, here are some trendy must haves- can you tell I'm loving red accents lately? Happy Monday!

Fall in Texas

I am a very proud Austinite, I like to keep Austin weird and I don’t LOVE tourist. I am a huge supporter of the saying “yeah Austin’s great…don’t move here”! When a huge tourist event comes to town, you can usually find me hiding in my house and avoiding the city. I’m not trying to sound like a snob, or even like a scrooge…but you would just have to live here to understand. With all of that being said; I will always make an exception for Austin City Limits Music Festival. I will go downtown- smile at all the tourist and even dance next to them. I love ACL. All the great bands that come in, the even big headliners, and you can see them all in one weekend. Need I say more? Yes, the lines are long. The price of beer/food is outrageous but where else will you see Lorde, Sam Smith, Iggy, Lana Del Ray, The Replacements, and Eminem (to name few) all in one place during one weekend? Exactly! It’s incredible and I love every minute of ACL festival! You can find more information about ACL (here)

There are two football teams in the great state of Tejas. . The Dallas Cowboys and some other team from Houston. A couple of weekends ago TC surprised me with tickets to a Cowboys game, so I made hotel reservations and we headed North on I-35! The weekend was spent shopping at the galleria (I'll do a haul soon), eating, and watching our boys do work on The Saints. I want to go ahead and throw this out there- I LOVE the Saints, except when they play The Cowboys. I'm a huge Drew Brees fan and an even bigger Sean Payton fan. However; when it comes down to it, I grew up on The Cowboys and I won't cheer against them. Well before I Insert a couple pictures... I want to say I LOVED our Hotel! It was a little boutique hotel located a little southeast of downtown Dallas. It had the most incredible views, and the interior was warehouse industrial. It was amazing. I could go on and on about it, but you'll see in the pictures. We also stopped by the Czech Stop on the way up for Kolaches. If you can't tell by now- TC and I love food! The Kolaches here are unreal- knock your socks off good.

We went to Dallas!

So as usual, I’m late to getting around to posting this! We decided a couple weeks ago to pack up and head down to New Orleans for a weekend! We had been so busy over the summer and hadn’t taken any time to get away. We had heard mixed reviews about little ol’ Nola, some said “it’s dirty” and others LOVED the city! Let me tell you, anything negative you’ve heard about New Orleans is a LIE! I absolutely loved this trip! New Orleans is so rich and soulful- everything from the music, art, and even the food. We stayed at a little boutique hotel called The International House . It was quaint and cute- just like I like my hotels. The first day we got there it was late in the afternoon so we just went to dinner at some little café. Saturday it rained, so we opted for a tour around the city on a little tour bus. It was perfect because we were able to see the entire city- far more than we would’ve seen on our own. It also allowed us to take note of places we’d like to see more of… like the garden district! Sunday we took our notes from the touristy bus ride and went exploring on our own. We had breakfast in the garden district and took a trolley from the garden district to the warehouse district. If you go to Nola, take a ride on the trolley. They’re old with the sliding bench seats and the views along the way are beautiful. Later that day we went down to the swamp, y’all! We took an airboat tour and saw some amazing wildlife. Now I'm not fond of any kind of attractions that “mess with nature or critters” but these gators seemed PRETTY happy to have their lunch served on a daily basis. I can honestly say- the gators seemed 100% happy and the tour guides really loved and respected the wildlife. Before this gets any longer, I’m going to insert pictures of our weekend.
And if you aren’t already sold on New Orleans… you will be the moment you get there and sink your teeth into a Beignet at Café Du Monde. It is a little sugary bite of heaven.
